OMG, so I overslept this morning, and in the worst possible way. I woke up just early enough that class hadn't started yet, but late enough that it was too late to get there on time. If I had just climbed out of bed immediately and gone there in my *pajamas*, I would have still been late! ARGH!

At least I have a time to make up the quiz, though. Still, I'm 10000 x annoyed at my stupid body for not waking up a lousy 10 minutes earlier than it did. :p

Anyways, I survived work, barely. I was really tired by the end of the night, so I just had Allison drop me off at home, because I couldn't take going back to the office one more time. ::rotfl:: It was a long, long day. Today will also be a long, long day.

I'm really going to need this 32oz Mountain Dew. ::hoards::

And OMFG, did I mention that I LOVE continuity in my TV programs?? That was one of the nice parts about last night's Buffy. :D
Here's one for my fellow college kids. The part that grabs me most is this:

While some jobs -- like teaching -- may fall in and out of favor, experts say students should not pick a degree based on what's hot today. Instead they should focus on what they're good at and what they enjoy.

That's very true, too. What's big one day may rapidly dwindle on the next day, and no one person can really control how the job market moves in that respect. I know at least some of my friends are worried about post-grad job prospects, and hell, sometimes I am, too. But if we're doing something that we're good at and that we enjoy, then maybe we're on the right track after all.

For instance, I'm very aware that internet-related fields aren't as big as they used to be, but I'm still going for web design and dev. I like it, and I'm pretty darn good at it, too. And yeah, maybe folks in that field are losing their jobs right now, but then again, so are people in a lot of other fields.

And who has ever been able to accurately predict the job market? Even those who make such predictions for a living don't always get it right. Most of us will have to work for 30 or 40 years before we get to retire, so why try to follow a trend that's going to die out in 5?

Just remember not to worry too much about following a dream or a passion. :) We're smart people, and we can roll with the punches if we need to.

Half an hour until class. Yeee. :p
OMFG, so I went to lecture today and found out that my art history midterm is moved to Monday! THERE IS A GOD!! ::faints::

Wow, what a boost! I might actually kick some ass in this class yet! :D

OMG I can't waaaaait to go home and go to sleeeeeep zzzzzzzzzz! I am hanging by my fingernails on the ledge of consciousness, here.

I definitely have to go do fun things with folks like [livejournal.com profile] skamp and [livejournal.com profile] whiteraevyn and [livejournal.com profile] tailixiong and [livejournal.com profile] chyee and like 10000 other people. I've felt way too poor to do much socializing as of late, and I'm really starting to miss people as a result. At least I've been able to have some cheapass fun with [livejournal.com profile] junsiew, because she's even poorer than I am. It that's possible. ^_-

I really have to get some $$$$, which I HOPE will be soon. x_x I get paid by Minijob this Friday, but I don't think I'll get to have much fun with that money. There are those things called "bills" that I have to take care of, y'know. ;ppp

I've had my hair in this odd half-bun/half-ponytail thing all day, and parts of it are still damp from my shower this morning, and it's giving me chills because now it's COLD and damp. :p As much as I love the robust fury of my hair at times, it's annoying how long it takes to dry.

Wow, I'm boring right now. ::rotfl::

Ooo! Mesh gradients! I go now.
