I actually started reading Invisible Monsters yesterday, and I'm ripping right through it. Palahniuk indulges the really bizarre corners of my brain. I'd probably be done with it by now, if I didn't keep getting this headache. I have this dull pain in my head that comes and goes as it likes, and that doesn't respond to pain relievers or caffeine or sleep. I know what's probably causing it, too, and nobody wants to hear about that.

I made myself do work today anyway, though. I'd been putting off my paid ONHW work for probably 10 days, and I completely forgot to go in during daylight and do my paperwork last week, because they all shut down so early. Skip's always out of his office after 1p, and the paperwork lady seems to clock out at 3p, and both are only in Monday through Thursday. When you're working Sunday through Wednesday nights until 3am-ish, the odds of making it in between those hours are pretty slim.

So yeah, I made some changes to the PHP docs, adjusted the DB a bit, and then did a couple hours of data entry. God, data entry sucks when you have a headache. But, I figured I'd better have something under my belt before I go in this week. Skip is one of precisely two professional references that I have right now, and I'd like to keep on his good side.

Mrrrf. Tomorrow, I go to print out my MiniInternship proofs and mail them, and try to get in to do paperwork, and try to apply at Shiki again. I missed it on Friday, because they close between lunch and dinner hours. I have an interview at Circuit City on Wednesday, and Target wants an interview, too. I've been putting off calling Target back, though, because I don't really want to work there so much. And they wanted to interview me on Labor Day, for chrissake. Like I'm going to interview on a national holiday.

Uh, yeah. I have to stop writing when I'm broody and achy.

Current mantra: Eddie Izzard on Wednesday night! And Krispy Kremes! Just keep slogging through for another 24 hours.
CHECK IT OUT! It's that time-travel spammer! (Alyson found this for me! ;_; HOORAY)

I'm in a grumptacular mood today, but I blame that on three things:
1) The stupid self-serve computers at Eugene Kinko's. The course of colour printing never did run smooth.
2) The stupid parking ticket I got while wrestling with the aforementioned computers. It's a City of Eugene ticket, which is cheaper than a Uni ticket, but GOD, that's still annoying.
3) The stupid jerk postal worker guy at the Eugene post office. He used to work at the University Post Office, and he was *always* a surly bastard there. Apparently, the change in scenery hasn't affected his attitude much.

So yeah, I had trouble sleeping last night, so I only got up in time to do the printing and mailing. I'm going back to Shiki before I go to work tonight, though, because they apparently accept applications at the end of their dinner hours, too. What an odd application schedule.

Random thing that I'm irked by, for some idiotic reason: That bit in Goldmember where they're speaking Japanese, and the subtitles are being misread--more specifically, the one where the subtitle reads "Please eat some shit(ake mushrooms)." It's shiitake, damnit. And yes, I realize that the joke doesn't work if they spell it properly, because "Please eat some shiit" doesn't make any sense. Hence, why this is a fairly silly thing to be irked by.

James has been gone all day, because he's doing some freaky orientation for his job with the Sierra Club. I was getting all accustomed to him being here while I'm slouching around the house, so it's odd that he's suddenly gone all day again.

I'm happy to be home, although my head still hurts from yesterday. I bought a frozen pizza for dinner, because I am being a lazy bastard. :D
