Stupid retail therapy
Aug. 31st, 2003 04:03 pmThere will be no more of me buying things! Although the things I did buy were quite nice.
aleisha wanted jeans, so a handful of us went to VRC yesterday, and while I was milling around looking at things, I noticed a pair of jeans that was the exact size and cut that I was wearing at the time. Then I found the price tag, and they were on sale b/c they were discontinued washes. So I got ~$40 pants for $15, and didn't even have to try it on! I somehow suckered myself into buying a cool button-down shirt, too, because I do need interview clothes that don't look all matronly, and that actually might go together in a respectable way with the other things in my closet. But the shirt was on sale too, so I got out of there for under $30.
I also bought a GRE study book, but that's something that all three of us can use, because we're all thinking about grad school sometime in the future--especially the boys, who will probably do it before I do. Yeah, I probably could have used the money for other things, but it could have been a more financially tragic day than it actually was.
I made awesome pasta last night, with lots of vegetables, and my lordy it was filling. My experiment was a success! I think it might be better to swap out the carrot next time for some cucumber/zucchini, though... I'll have to get a second opinion.
I think I've been on some kind of computer detox for the past few days. I don't think I've spent more than 10 minutes in one sitting on the computer in quite some time, aside from writing the occasional LJ post, and that's kind of weird. There's usually *something* I want to do or need to do. I'm so burnt out on so many things right now. I suppose I should just quit whining and move on, because I have plenty of freelancing to do in the next few weeks.
I have to work tonight. Bleeeehhh. Everyone who's working had better show up tonight, or I'll be pretty pissed.
