batskeetsDude, are any of y'all ("y'all" being Douglass posse types) planning anything for the 4th? I'm curious as to what the hey we could do.
Mike is trying to talk me into going up to Portland for Julian's annual shindiggy... whether or not I actually go mainly hinges on what James thinks of it. (he'll say that we should go if I want to, of course, but I'll be able to tell his true feelings about the idea just from that ^_-)
I myself am ambivalent about the whole idea. It would be nice to see everybody, especially since it's been a long-ass time since I've been up there. But being around Julian's family all day does not exactly ring my bell. I mean jeesh, they were intimidating enough when I was dating the guy, who knows how it'd be post-dumping? ^^;;;;;
And, my going or not also hinges on what is or isn't going on down in Eugene. If anybody's got any bright ideas, do speak up. :)

Date: 2001-07-03 11:12 am (UTC)I wouldn't really be concerned about. There's no "This is our Son" protection barrier there now. (Although that applies more often daughters) I say don't worry about it. You'll have enough friends there anyway to keep your mind occupied.

Date: 2001-07-03 12:57 pm (UTC)I just tend to worry about this sort of thing sometimes (probably far too much) because things are still pretty cordial and weird between myself and Jules. This is what happens when your job is boring and you have far too much time to sit around and dwell on everything that pops into your head.;pppppp
Seriously though, I always feel really bizarre in big family situations, no matter how nice they might have been to me in the past--I'm a total clam at James' family gatherings, and somewhat of a clam even with my own! And IIRC, Jules usually has extended family at the 4th of July parti, ne? Ultimate scare factor there, cos he's got a HUGE family.
