Angry people and aliens
Apr. 22nd, 2001 02:53 amSo I went to see Electra tonight with Sarah, Dan, and Alicia, and it was kind of mediocre. It was visually very cool, they had a nice set and interesting costumes, and the staging was very artsy without too much fartsy. The plot didn't hook me though... they just started out being angry, and continued to be angry throughout. There weren't really any levels, and it didn't really inspire the audience to be angry along with the characters. But it was something to do, and it wasn't terrible, it just wasn't fantastic either.
After that we came back home, found Cory, and played Therapy, which is this really random game. The trivia part of it was utter crap about half the time, because they were referencing some relatively old psych studies as a basis for them, and having two people heavily immersed in psychology playing it also left more reasons for us to dispute the trivia questions. The amusing part was the "Therapy" thing, where they gave us questions like "If aliens landed in your back yard late at night, would you: A) go back to sleep, B) find someone to protect you, or C) go out and greet the aliens", and we had to try and figure out what the other person would pick. That was kind of fun. ^_^ (Incidentally, for the aforementioned question, I picked "Go back to sleep," because 1. it'd be doubtful that I'd even wake up in the first place, and 2. considering how groggy and pissy I can be when I first wake up, I don't think the world would want me to play ambassador to a bunch of extraterrestrials in that state. ;p)
After that I picked up James, and Dan dropped Alicia off at home, and those of us remaining went over to Shari's, for random nibbles. I had some ice cream and split some fries with James, and a good time was had by all. Definitely a good Saturday night for me. :D
I think I'm going to crash in the near future, because I'd like to get a good start tomorrow and study for that midterm some more.
