Nothing highlights how much of a self-paced learner you are than being tossed into an all-day training course. ;p

This isn't true of me for *all* things, I suppose, but for computer-based and technical activities, I'm a lot more predisposed to figuring things out myself. Having particular things cherry-picked and fed to me in a class-like format doesn't tend to hold my interest as well, unless they happen to pick a lot of things that I'd have wanted to know about if I were wandering through the content on my own. (that? doesn't happen often.)

Speaking of learning and teaching, I'm now assisting with white belt class at wushu, so I can be on the demo team without paying the extra fee that the other members pay. I started last Saturday, and it's pretty weird, mostly because I've only coached in an environment when I'm the leader, and I've only coached people who are in or near my age group. In this situation, I'm not in charge of running the class, and I'm also coaching little kids, some of whom clearly don't want to be in class.

Part of me wants to be harder on them so they'll learn it correctly, because I'm still un-learning bad habits that nobody told me to fix in my first and second years of wushu. But, another part of me says that I shouldn't be too hard on them, because the other coaches aren't, or because they're young and unaware of their bodies, or some other such thing.

Lina and Sue Ann were there on Saturday while I was assisting, and they were all, "whatever, Sarah's a meaner coach than that!" That cracks me up. XD

Anyhoo, I think I'll try to pay attention again. Wooyeah.
