"Rest?" What is this thing you speak of?

I got up nice and early on Saturday, to drive down to Elkton to shoot the family reunion. It turned out to be less of an event shoot, and more of a big family portrait session, but they were a relaxed and groovy group, and they just rounded up the various groups and put them in front of me, so it was a smooth and easy gig. Since it was almost all portrait shots, I won't post many, but here are a couple that were fun:

Lots of other stuff happened, too. My plans fell through with [livejournal.com profile] divadrummer because I suck, but I did still manage to grab lunch with [livejournal.com profile] junsiew on Saturday, lunched with [livejournal.com profile] numfar and [livejournal.com profile] craftyran on Sunday, and even got to chat with [livejournal.com profile] bychoice for a bit. :) We also saw Andy's comedy gig on Saturday--he did all right, but there were some *really* unfunny comics that went on before him, unfortunately--and went with him and Jen for drinks afterwards. And, there was also kicking it with Ben's family, having buffalo burgers, and toasting s'mores. It was very busy, but it was awesome to see people.

Anyhoo, it's Monday and I'm still tired as hell, but I'm getting by. We did a shoot with a model last Thursday, and I threw down a new-to-me lighting technique, which yielded this and many other shots like it:

OH NOES the bright lights! )

It gave me an idea for an ongoing arty-farty photo project, which I'll hopefully find some effing time for once I get through these next few weeks. Assuming I don't pass out into some sort of involuntary hibernation, that is. ;p
