batskeets: (j)
I'm feeling like a doofus right now. I forgot to bring a fork with me to work, so I can't eat the main part of my lunch. So, all I've had is a twinkie and some chips, because they're the only bits that don't require a utensil in order to eat them. :p Not loving it.

The good news is, I have some nice shite to put in my portfolio, now. I'm thinking of a couple layouts that I *really* wish I had, because I'm still proud of them even now, which is rare for me, because I usually get sick of my layouts. I have some good stuff online that I can use, though, so it's all good.

I think my old music videos have been cast to the four winds, though, which kind of irritates me. I guess I'm not too heartbroken about losing Man-Size, because it wasn't going very well, but I really liked Deep As You Go, damnit. It flowed. ;_;

I should do that Saint Tail video that I was all hype to do, though. I'd have to buy more of the DVDs, though, and that's, uh, kind of not happening at this point.

Last night at work was cake: answered a few calls, ate Taco Bell, played a whole lot of Earthworm Jim. Working DDS on break is *awesome*. :D I could have gotten a lot done with the portfolio last night, too, if I hadn't been developed such a splitting headache.

Feh, I can't believe my "break" is almost over. I'm not feeling any more relaxed, that's for sure. Why do I work so damned hard all the time, and yet still go around thinking that I'm the laziest person on earth?? Bloody hell.
Damnit, if I put an artist's statement in my portfolio, does that make me an artist?

Cos, y'know, I'm a designer. As in, "A Designer, Not An Artist."

(Hey, all those Artist types make the distinction, so I might as well. Wouldn't want to be mistaken for one of them, after all. ^_-)

But leaving it out is probably not the best idea, either.

Bollocks. It'd have been easier to deal with this Real Job™ thing if I'd just stuck with Computer Science. A resume is cake compared to a full-blown interactive portfolio. :p
Damn, this portfolio business is hard work. x_x

Anyway, here's what I have so far. I think I like it, even though I used Times New Roman. I haven't used Times in *forever*, but with the scripty font, I guess it seemed more fitting than a sans-serif font.

Let me know if you think I should keep the diagonal field in the background, too. I thought it looked kind of plain without it, but I can't decide.

Oh yeah, links don't work yet, BTW. Drawing all that shite out in Illustrator + doing the opening interface build took like 4 hours. x_x

And I'm off! JU-RI-AAAAAAAAAA!! ::makes dorky Ryu faces::
We took a day off, but now we're back!

Today, [livejournal.com profile] kamuix99 asks: How long have you been playing DDR?

Probably 1.5 to 2 years, actively, cos that's when machines started showing up in Eugene. The very first time I played was actually back in 1999, when my cousin got the insane idea to go to an arcade during Christmas break. (It was during my time with the fambly down in SoCal, where there's DDR out the yang) I was wearing heels at the time, but I think I did a 3-footer by the end of the night without killing myself.

Now, I'm plateauing around 7 or 8 feet. I should be able to cata by now, but I keep playing a few months on, a few months off, so I don't really stay consistent in how frequently I play. ^^;

And [livejournal.com profile] kyuu asks: Sarah, what color underwear are you wearing?

Uh, white. But they're not grannies! And yesterday, the answer would have been blue! ;_;

I need more cute underpants. :p

That's all for today.
