Soooo I'm sitting here and it's really late, again.: I just won a standard game of HMM2, vs. the computer, of course. I had a fearsome army at one point which included 40 titans and 400+ halflings. It was pretty much unstoppable. ::lol::

James and I went to see Moulin Rouge today. It was, to say the least, pretty bizarre! At first I was really overwhelmed by the sheer spectacle of it, and I wasn't sure I'd ever really get into it, but I was practically bawling three separate times during the latter part of the movie, which surprised me, because I wasn't expecting to be so completely rooting for and sympathizing with the two main characters to that extent. I haven't cried that much since the Joy Luck Club, and JLC had a very personal resonance with me. There was some very cool cinematography and editing, very fast paced and it pretty well leaves you breathless. It strikes you as very, very bizarre, but you like it anyway. Or at least, I did. ::lol::

And woo, that Ewan McGregor can sing it! :D But *I* already knew that, cos I've seen Velvet Goldmine, where he sings one full song and several other bits. (well, in that case it's more like howling, but it's glam rock for chrissake! See the movie, he totally sells it) For a sample from VG, because I'm so nice, click here. And, returning briefly from that tangent, I was also surprised at Nicole Kidman's singing, it was pretty smooth... definitely unexpected from her.

Agenda for tomorrow: do laundry, work on Jcomm, study Art History. That's pretty much it. The webcam is on, though it probably won't be for much longer... I should hit the sack soon.

Jeez.

Why do I always get into the creative spurts at insane hours of the night?? I don't get it.

At any rate, I posted a Don't Need To See It rating of The Animal at Flicking It! I have the review for Shrek half-written, I'll probably post it tomorrow or Monday. And theeeenn hopefully I'll have time to write up Swordfish and Moulin Rouge later in the week. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm facing a minor problem with the site though--namely, the fact that I never, ever see crappy movies. I mean yeah, if I was actually a hardcore reviewer that gets to go see all these movies for free, then yeah, I'd probably see more lousy ones, because even if it sucks, at least it's not costing me money. BUT I'm not, which means I'm paying money for every flick I see. Pair that with my uncanny ability to spot a truly bad movie from miles away (hence, why Don't Need To See It works for me), and you've got a girl without any reviews of bad movies that she's actually seen. I dunno what that'll do for/to my credibility, but whatever. If I start getting invited to special free screenings, then maybe things will change.

Time for bed, seriously this time. G'night!

I'm making some eatables right now. I've been up for a while, and my laundry is currently in the dryer. Once I get some food in me tummy, I'll start on the other stuff.

DUDE!

Okay, so my television wound up tuned to the McHale's Navy movie through some weird twist of fate (aka James), and I just saw a guy open a beer bottle by gripping the cap with his eye socket! You have to see to believe, man. ::lmao::
