Saturday, what a day
Jun. 10th, 2001 04:52 amSoooo I'm sitting here and it's really late, again.: I just won a standard game of HMM2, vs. the computer, of course. I had a fearsome army at one point which included 40 titans and 400+ halflings. It was pretty much unstoppable. ::lol::
James and I went to see Moulin Rouge today. It was, to say the least, pretty bizarre! At first I was really overwhelmed by the sheer spectacle of it, and I wasn't sure I'd ever really get into it, but I was practically bawling three separate times during the latter part of the movie, which surprised me, because I wasn't expecting to be so completely rooting for and sympathizing with the two main characters to that extent. I haven't cried that much since the Joy Luck Club, and JLC had a very personal resonance with me. There was some very cool cinematography and editing, very fast paced and it pretty well leaves you breathless. It strikes you as very, very bizarre, but you like it anyway. Or at least, I did. ::lol::
And woo, that Ewan McGregor can sing it! :D But *I* already knew that, cos I've seen Velvet Goldmine, where he sings one full song and several other bits. (well, in that case it's more like howling, but it's glam rock for chrissake! See the movie, he totally sells it) For a sample from VG, because I'm so nice, click here. And, returning briefly from that tangent, I was also surprised at Nicole Kidman's singing, it was pretty smooth... definitely unexpected from her.
Agenda for tomorrow: do laundry, work on Jcomm, study Art History. That's pretty much it. The webcam is on, though it probably won't be for much longer... I should hit the sack soon.
