SIGH

May. 31st, 2001 09:39 am
It's morning. Again. :p

I now have TWO psych experiments to do today... I tacked one on at 2:00. BUT the good news is that I'll have plenty of credit slips after today, which means I don't have to do anymore of these farking things. ;ppppp

The hard part is getting my paper done tonight. I haven't done nearly as much background work as I would have liked. My paper probably won't be all that good, but as long as I actually do one, it's okay. And you know, I've never gotten *anything* below a B- on a paper, even when half-assing it. So I figure that, as long as I turn in a paper, even a relatively lame one, I can't do *too* badly on it, because I'm a good writer. That's my strength here. I'll need it to make up for the fact that I'm not a hardcore Psych or Linguistics freak like the rest of the people in this bloody class. :p

In other news, I'm tired, although not as bad as yesterday. I didn't notice any nasty circles under my eyes this morning, but then again, the lighting in our bathroom isn't the best. ::shrug:: Oh well.
Oh my freakin' GOD I hurt all kinds of bad! The psych experiment I just did was worse than I thought. They put this weird pseudo-helmet on your head, and it has little infrared cameras on it that track the movement of your eyes. THEN they put you in an un-lit room with a black screen, black walls, black ceiling, etc, so it's all creepy and near-impossible to tell where you are in relation to the rest of the room.

Between the incessant eye-focusing and the pressure of the helmet, I now have a rip-roaring headache and eyeache. Both are fading, but it still sucked. :p One of the experimenters told me afterwards that when he tried it, he couldn't even get through all the trials in one sitting. Jeebus, people. :p The good news is, I got 2 credit slips out of it. Go me. ;p

I'm in a writing mood. I'm not sure what to write about though. Well, okay, so I'm in a *creative* writing mood. I'm not at all in the mood to write the paper I have to write later.

I have another study in an hour or so. Jeesh. :p Then I may come back to work again, or I might just go home and start on my paper.

Blah

So I'm home now. I'm waiting around for Chuck to pop in and *finally* give us the lowdown on paperwork and the new leases and such. It has been insanely hard to find time to talk to the guy, because he's only here during the day, and Cory and I are usually gone all day. (or in Cory's case, sometimes sleeping like the dead ^_-)

I really, really do not want to write this paper tonight. I have been exhausted all week, and for no apparent reason, and I am definitely not up to the sleep deprivation that it will require of me. BLAH. Scr00 dat, j0.
Nora provided this one:

1. Who was the last person you yelled at?: Uh, I don't really yell at people...
2. Who was the last person you kissed?: Duh, that would be James.
3. What was the last memorable book you read?: Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut
4. When did you last dance?: I think at Shannon's wedding
5. What's the last thing you want to hear from your parents?: I have no idea.
6. When did you last go for a walk in the park?: a couple weeks ago, although technically we were only *looking* for the park. ^^;
7. When did you last do your ironing?: I'm too busy for that frou-frou ironing stuff!
8. When was the last time you smiled all day?: Wouldn't that make your face hurt?
9. What color of socks do you normally wear?: White. Then you never have socks that clash with the rest of your clothes.
10. Did you ever attend a private school?: Yes. Don't remind me. :p
11. Do you like stuffed animals?: YES! :D
12. Have you ever smashed pumpkins?: No, but I listen to Smashing Pumpkins. ::lmao::
13. Do you read labels when shopping for food?: Only when I'm dieting. (sad, huh?)
14. Can you quote Shakespeare?: Yep. Thank you Mr. Duren and your crazy recitations.
15. Do you like playing baseball?: Of COURSE! :D I consider myself a pretty hardcore shortstop. Well, for a girl anyway.
16. Are you a neat freak?: Not really, but I'm becoming one more and more every day.
17. What is the worst injury you have ever given someone?: I once accidentally hit a guy in the nuts. ^^;;;;;
18. Do you ever eat lemons plain?: Sometimes.
19. Have you ever fired a gun?: Nah, because then I'd be without toes.
20. Do you own any knee-high boots?: Not for lack of trying.
21. Are you attached to extreme people?: Define "extreme".
22. Do you like swimming in lakes?: Yeah, depending on what's swimming around in them.
23. Have you ever streaked at a football game or any other public event?: HA HA HA!!! Shut up. ::lmao::
24. What is your favorite gemstone?: Emerald, or star sapphire. Hematite is also neat.
25. Have you gone on many blind dates?: Not a one!
26. Has someone done something extra nice for you?: Yes!
27. Did you have a crush on any of your teachers?: Ew. Let's not go there.
28. Have you ever been lost in a bad part of a city?: Nope. :D
29. Would you rather have a mint or fruit flavored gum?: Fruit!
30. Do you have road rage?: Nah, I just swear. A LOT.
31. Have you ever eaten grass?: When I was a kid.
32. Do you ever eat food right out of cans or jars?: I'll drink soda out of the can, but that's all.
33. Has your mind ever gone blank?: LMAO! Duh.
34. Have you ever met anyone interesting at the laundromat?: I don't exactly frequent the laundromat.
35. Do you have recurring dreams?: Nope. I rarely have them at all.
36. Are you kind?: I like to think so.
37. Would you give a needy person the shirt off your back?: Maybe, although I don't like the idea of walking home topless.
38. Do you have any beanie babies?: Just one. G-Frog rules. :D
39. Would you rather be hot or cold?: Cold! You don't get all nasty and sweaty and stinky when you're cold.
40. Is the glass half full, or empty?: It's only half-full.
41. Do you exercise or work out regularly?: I try. ^^;;;;;
42. Could you kill if your life was threatened?: Certainly, although I'd probably try to find a non-killing solution first.

Awww yea.

This song 0wnz, j0.

I think I should start reading soon. I'm so tired right now that I know I'll fall asleep though.

P.S. webcam is on. I look remarkably bald today. O_o;
Thank you Atari Teenage Riot for the lyrics. They don't really apply to this entry, nor do they apply to me, but it's a cool song anyway. :D

I'm working on my paper, sort of. I've resigned myself to the idea of turning it in late, because that stupid psychology study I did this morning is *still* causing me pain. I want to burn my own eyes out with a hot poker right now. I'm amazed that I'm even typing this, because looking at the computer monitor hurts too, which kind of precludes any extended period of typing. And isn't it a bitch that I wouldn't have even *had* to do the psych study if it weren't for the class that I'm writing the paper for? So basically, one aspect of the class is impairing my ability to deal with another. \/\/34|<.
