Halloween Insanity

Well, after lots of listmaking and mental flailing, I have finally decided upon a Halloween costume.



It'd be easy to pull off a basic version with some fabric and cardboard, if I get too busy to do something fancy. But, if I find enough time, the fully-realized version I'm imagining will likely involve spandex. And possibly sheet metal. And LEDs. And it would be AMAZING.

My creative juices are overflowing. Hoshit.

Sandi and I are TRYING to decide whether or not to do a costume party this year. We've done one for the last few, and it's the only way our kids get to do anything AND it makes us dress up.

But, sometimes that ends tragically, as in this pic. haha

LOL I don't really remember much of the halloween party, as it was like 2 or 3 years ago, but I remember it was fun. I didn't know anyone, but it was still so much fun. :) And hey, you spanking everyone within reach is never unwanted.

I would recommend a different material than sheet metal, having made a dress out of sheet metal previously. The sharp edges and irritation of working with it is quite great.

I'm trying to think of a good alternative material though - I wonder if you can get large sheets of acrylic or plastic from anywhere.

I am more excited about your costume than I am about thinking up mine, hahah. :D

Ooo, yeah. I was thinking that sheet metal might not be the friendliest material, but since I'd mainly want it for the flat sides of the coin box, I figured I could put up with it if I had to. I'd love to have something easier to work with that still looks good!

I'm wondering if a thick foam board type thing would work. It'd be sturdy enough for a flat panel, and lighter than metal so it wouldn't be too heavy to wear for awhile. :D

I agree about the metal- you can get metal looking fabric and various plastics at Joanns. Lucky you living close to there! I ventured over there this past weekend.

I tend to just avoid the place because it's so close to Wal-Mart, but if I actually do go there and wander into the yarn section, I can get myself into trouble way too fast.

My upstairs neighbor has some experience with ELwire. But I remember your having other contacts with experience in that.

This is awful, but the first thing that occurred to me is the difficulty you might have with people uppercutting you in a completely inappropriate fashion in order to obtain the powerup. :)

I am resurrecting it this year for a race because I think I can totally run in it but I may make it Tanuki Mario. So I totally LOVE your idea :)
