...it is easier, instead, to talk about video games. Heh.

It is a foregone conclusion that, upon the arrival of my tax refund, I will be purchasing an XBOX 360. I would also like to purchase some newer version of Rock Band sometime soon--hopefully in time for Birthday-stravaganza--because, considering how much I love playing that game, it's pretty silly that I don't actually own it myself.

So, question: What difference in user experience should I expect, if I buy Rock Band for Wii, versus buying it for the 360? If I recall correctly, the Wii version comes with wireless controllers already included (?), which would be pretty sweet. But, I also know there's a lot of downloadable content on the 360, and a lot of those are songs I'd want very badly. Does the same hold true for Wii?

I'm lazy, I had a hell of a time falling asleep last night, and it's 10:49 on a Sunday night. Help a girl out?

I don't believe there's any downloadable content on the Wii. Besides, the Wii has very limited storage space, so you wouldn't be able to get very many songs on your console anyhow.

yeah you can't download any content, i don't think you can even get any of the character customizy stuff that the 360 offers. i'd go for the 360 version, definitely.

As mentioned above, the Wii is a somewhat stripped-down environment. You don't get all of the bells and whistles.

Right now, the Xbox is the only console that has the Rock Band Network, which has 100+ extra songs (more being added daily), including a bunch of Coulton. That's worth grabbing it for the 360 right there.

I would like to echo all of the above. 360 Rock Band is far far superior to Wii Rock Band in every way.

Plus, if you are set on getting the 360, get a sweet rock band set to break it in with =)

One MAJOR piece of advice: Get a NEW 360, and NOT a refurb! Most everyone I know who has gotten a refurb, myself included, has had a nightmare. My troubles in that department instantly ceased when I got a new one.
