I was inspired by
marykae to go back and look at old posts. If I had to choose my "constant" based on some of this old stuff, it's apparently one of three things:
A) working on creative projects
B) gaming and recreation
C) being tired
Some things never change, heh. Anyhoo, these snippets are from my pre-PDX life. (notes from Current-Me in italics):
3/11/2000 **I find it amusing that for my first year or so on LJ, I basically used it like most folks use Twitter nowadays.
I'm tired! Nyar!
3/11/2001 **Insomnia was a constant thorn in my side in my pre-wushu days.
Spent most of the day feeling tired and lazy. I woke up about 4 hours into my sleep period last night, so I don't feel very rested. :( It's getting better though.
3/11/2002 **The only bit of formal photography education I've ever had: black-and-white film photography class!
I did a TON of photo processing today. My project is pretty much done, actually, I just have to do some dry-matting before I turn everything in on Wednesday. All in all, not as bad as I thought. Phew! I also did quite a few workbook exercises during film dry and final wash, so once I do the listening exercises, I'm good to go. Woo!
3/11/2003 **I think this was the Lazy Jedi video project I did for class. It was a bit about a guy who only learned to use the Force so he could snag the TV remote without having to get up off the couch.
I'm still working with the Video Project of Doom. I can't seem to capture any sound off of my DV tape, so this is quickly becoming irritating. It wasn't an issue for the other video project, because we weren't supposed to use a soundtrack, but now, it's a *BIG* problem. The concept is *heavily* dependent on the dialogue, and if I have no audio, then you obviously can't hear the dialogue. I *need* the audio in order to bring the funny! ::cry::
3/11/2004 **Post-graduation unemployment phase. The economy in Eugene has always sucked.
Sorry, I'm feeling a bit downtrodden today. Not to mention that the parental units (well, one of them, anyway) have this idea in their head that I should move to L.A. My first thought is that I'd probably go postal after a week in Los Angeles. If there was a good job for me there, then I suppose it'd be worth it, but moving down to L.A. to flip burgers or wait tables sounds like My Personal Hell. I suppose you have to do what you have to do, but, ugh. I'd almost rather move to the deep South and shuck corn or something. :p
3/11/2005 **Early proof of my now-dead WoW addiction. I quit about a year later.
Horde people are kind of funny when you don't just jump all over them and try to kill them. I've watched other Alliance people try to gang up and kill off some high-level Horde guys several times over the past couple of nights, without getting involved myself, and it always ends in the high-level Horde greasing all the lower-level Alliance. Then, the high-level Horde guy will just look over and be like, "oh, look at the cute little gnome that *wasn't* all up in my grill!" and start waving at me and dancing with me for no apparent reason. Heh. :)
3/10/2006 **Man, my co-workers at my old job were fun. The people who worked there are what made that place great.
My life must be turning into a sitcom or a horror movie, because I JUST GOT TRAPPED IN AN ELEVATOR!! XD
We were waiting probably 10 or 15 minutes for the elevator technicians to come and get us out, and then *somebody* had to bring up that scene from Resident Evil... if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. ::rotfl:: Three people had their cell phones, and started calling other people in the office and leaving hilarious, "OMG WE'RE TRAPPED IN THE ELEVATOR WE'RE GOING TO DIIIEEE" voicemails, and there was lots of joking about whether or not we were getting paid for being trapped in an elevator... it was pretty entertaining, actually.
3/12/2007 **I just remembered! This audition was run by the same casting director who later rented studio time from us, after we set up the photo studio in PDX. I don't know if he remembers, and I kind of hope he doesn't. My jumping skills were SO bad.
So, I just set an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. I'm auditioning to be a ninja.
Seriously. XD
