Good Day

Yesterday was a good day. :) Did a portrait shoot, had a good dinner, watched some good TV on the intertubes.

The portrait shoot went nicely. I've had some difficulty sleeping over the past few days, so I wasn't entirely on my game, and Boy has been taking more of a backseat on portrait shoots, as of late. The senior we were shooting was pretty low-key, too, but Boy and I gave each other good energy and both performed better than I would have alone. It's nice to have that support system when other parts of life are draining me. Partners-in-crime FTW!

Also, for anyone who cares and might want to come watch me wushu, we're doing a demo team performance in November, weekend before Thanksgiving. I'm working on more details, but I figured I'd throw out a heads-up. My physical therapist has been really interested in seeing some wushu since we started working, which kind of cracks me up, but I told her about the demo and she was like "YES EMAIL ME MORE DETAILS ZOMG." She's the nicest person ever. XD

Still not sleeping great, but coffee is getting me through. Furnace is being hinky, but Boy thinks he knows what's wrong, and can hopefully fix it today. Also, [livejournal.com profile] mycologynerd can apparently get free trees through her program, and it's prime time for tree planting, so I am ALL ABOUT planting some fruit trees! Plants that grow food = WIN. I kind of want a cherry tree, but Nathan says the birds tend to eat them all before you get the chance... so maybe apples.

Speaking of, things have been excellent roommate-wise. People are getting along and not being drama queens! I heart my house. Yay!

if you hang CDs in your cherry tree, birds will be scared away! :D something about the light or the reflection...

Do you do spinning backhands? That might be fun to photograph.

I am not sure when exactly they unload the trees on us, it may be in Winter term. There is however a list of houseplants on the fridge that you can pick from that I get in 3 weeks =)

I also got two free tulip bulbs on my field trip, so I need to find somewhere to stick those down, it's the season to stick Tulips and Lily's int he ground they will pop out in 4 months =)

Oh and also in 5 weeks I will have a packet with the list of trees/shrub that grow well here that you guys can look through that are not fruit trees but are spectacular in landscapes. I have to do it as a project for class. Staghorn Sumac is a amazing plant that everyone should have the pleasure of in there yard. You should check it out, there are some up Holgate.
