I found myself in a crappy mood yesterday, but I got over it. I made awesome chili-lime tilapia for dinner, had a discussion with Boy--mostly one-sided, but *I* felt better, at least--and decided to blow off the coast trip and have fun with the Doomsters instead.
I've been a bit concerned about wedding bookings, because A) we raised our rates for 2009, and B) people seem to be cutting back (even more?) on their photography, what with the down economy and all. But, I just saw a fax come in with a signed contract for one of our Big New Wedding Packages, and then I looked, and there are other bookings in the calendar that I hadn't heard about yet. So, yeah, I feel better now. ^^;
And, after a long break, I'm FINALLY getting back to some fashion shooting. The break was nice, but I was starting to feel stagnant after wrapping those bridal shoots. A wardrobe stylist contacted me about shooting last night, and that was apparently the kick in the butt that I needed, because now things are falling together for a soft, summery fashion shoot next Wednesday. Hotsauce.
Speaking of shooting, here are just a few images from the 300+ photos I shot at Berkeley!
I LOVE the little wushu kids. They're amazing!

The guy below takes TaiChi at my wushu school :)

This guy coached me for my first 2 years of wushu. Daaaaang! (inside joke)

I had a lot of fun shooting these, in spite of the gross lighting, and it proved an effective distraction from the sheer terror of competing in my own event. XD

Date: 2009-04-24 07:34 pm (UTC)As for the bookings, its really stressful waiting for jobs to come in. We just paid taxes which almost killed me they were so high and now business is really slow.. its nerve racking waiting for people to call you. I am glad to hear you're booking for summer already

Date: 2009-04-24 07:50 pm (UTC)It *is* terrifying waiting for work to come in. I went through this same cycle of, "OMG WE'RE NOT BOOKING ANYTHING YET oh wait, now we are," last year, too... I wonder if you ever get used to it?

Date: 2009-04-24 08:13 pm (UTC)These shots are AWESOME! Was there a Tai Chi section of the competition too? I saw that picture and went, "Wheee! Cloud Hands!" (Or at least I think it is. :)
