WTF, Portland Weather? (Part 37)
Dec. 19th, 2008 09:44 pmIt is supposed to snow out the wiggity-wazoo tomorrow, and then freeze on Sunday. That certainly doesn't bode well for my planned 900-or-so-mile drive on Tuesday!
My ma called today, wigging out about the weather, and fretting that I won't be able to get through the pass. Odds are slim that we'd be able to get me a plane ticket on such short notice, but she's apparently thinking about it.
Well, worst case, I kick it with the Boy's family on Christmas, and get all depresso because I have never, ever missed Christmas with my family before. Siiiiigh. At least I'd have someplace to go that feels Christmas-y, though.

Date: 2008-12-20 10:35 am (UTC)I've been wanting to try Mother's, but I don't know what the lunch crowd is like. Also, there are places on Hawthorne/Belmont that are decent for breakfast or lunch; that's probably the neighborhood I'm most familiar with.

Date: 2008-12-20 06:03 pm (UTC)I just tried to go to my chiropractor, and spun out (as in, literally spun 180 degrees) so I don't know that I'll be driving anywhere. But I think if I stay home I'll go stir-crazy. Ugh.
I'm thinking of bundling up and hopping the bus/MAX into downtown later today and wandering around anyway, even of I don't get the chance to see you. :'{

Date: 2008-12-21 03:01 am (UTC)Everything I had to do today got cancelled, so I packed my shit, put on the snow chains, and fled for Eugene early to beat the overnight freeze. I am totally up for something after I get back, though.
BTW, I've only been to Mother's once, and it was quite tasty, but also really busy! It was on the same day as Race for the Cure, though, so the crowd level might've been higher than usual.

Date: 2008-12-21 04:07 am (UTC)As a Central Oregonian, I'm often scornful of Portland snow, but it is for real this time.
