SO. MANY. HOUSES. Oy freakin' vey!
So yeah, we went out with Miles and looked at a bunch of houses yesterday. I think that maybe 1 house out of the dozen or so that we looked at was actually something we thought might be worth making an offer for. We've been looking online at houses that have some character and need some spit-and-polish, rather than the sparkly-new-but-boring ones.
So, yes, most of them were too small, or too beat-up. But that one house we'd actually consider? Craziness. It had a ton of square footage for a surprisingly low price, and they'd recently updated a lot of Important Stuff! (roof, chimney, furnace, plumbing, etc.)
The only down side? The interior decorating throughout the entire place was hilaaaariously tacky 1970's chic, but without the chic. XD I could *not* stop chuckling to myself as I walked through the place, because they obviously hadn't updated anything on the inside since god-knows-when. But, there's nice hardwood under the gross retro carpet, and with a bit of paint, the place would be pretty awesome.
Anyhoo, there's a lot out there, so we're far from decided. But it's exciting times!
I'm pretty pooped today, but that's okay. We did have some relax-y time on Saturday, and gave
benefitz a happy sendoff at his gathering. And I won at a board game I'd never played before! Also, Andy started moving his stuff in yesterday! He'll have a lot more opportunities up here than in Eugene for what he wants to do, which is exciting! :)
Okay, I'm off like a dirty shirt.
