First off: anybody need a business card? I'm wanting to add some newer business card designs to my portfolio. I am open to barter arrangements, doing it for cheap, etc., because y'all are my homies. Hit me up!

Second: best way to get rid of mice? Not one involving pets, since we can't have any. Apparently, we have them in the house, and it's quickly starting to piss me off that the little buggers won't just stumble into one of our mousetraps and die already. Granted, it's only been like a day, but still...

Oh yeah, and people who aren't suckers like we Oregonians with our late primaries: go vote today! It matters! :D

That is all.

As for the mouse... the feller that visited me a couple nights ago wasn't the same guy I saw in the kitchen while I was surfing in the dining room last night... it (the 2nd one) was definitely a little bigger, though not quite rat-sized... I think.

They found two of the four traps... and managed to eat the peanut butter without setting them off... I'll make it a little harder tonight.

To get rid of a mouse....

Hit it with a book! It's what I did. :)

You could also try rat poison, just mix it with some flour. Or put some glue on a tile together with some food.

:( that's sucky. maybe you can borrow a kitty for like a day. if you get the right kitty, that should be plenty of time.

What are your traps baited with? Growing up my mother always got the mice with creamy Jif in the traps. Don't forget to give it a few days too and check the traps regularly to refill the PB if needed. Mice sometimes manage to get it off without setting off the trap, but if they keep coming, sooner or later they'll get caught.

Mentioned above... yeah used PB and yeah they managed to liberate it from 2/4 traps without getting caught. Will regroup and mount another attack tonight.

I want a business card. Like, hardcore.

I had a design a few years back, and vaguely remember it. Might be able to sketch out my ideas. :)

I am all about the barter.

I could definitely use some new business cards.

What do I need to provide you with content-wise to get the process started? I also have a few cool items they may interest you bartering-wise :-D

W00t! I guess as far as content, I'd need to know what text, contact info, etc. will be included on it. Also, colors you like, whether or not you want any kind of illustration or logo, etc. Anything that reflects the style you're going for :)

Drop me an e-mail whenever you have the chance, and we'll talk!

I've always heard a saucer of beer would kill rats and mice. Seems they are unable to burp and expel the gas that builds up and well, they die from it.

Anything larger than the size of a pencil eraser a rat can get into. Cover anything (like bread tins or flour tins) with rusty steel (like a brillo pad I think) and it cuts their teeth. Since their teeth are constantly growing they always need to eat.

The other thing you could do is put food and purposely poison it with borax (which kills *everything* in small doses) but that's probably not very nice??

Mice - if you can find where they are coming in, patch it. If your house is full of holes and you rent, call the landlord and tell them to deal with the pest problem. If you own the house full of holes, call an exterminator.
