Take a hike

batskeetsAfter much consideration, I decided to just do broadsword at the tourney. I added up my nandu points, and even if I include jumps that I can only land less than 50% of the time, I still can't max out my nandu points. dakania (yay) and other wushu people, and try not to freak out.
I am *definitely* going to re-examine my training options after I get back. I need to take it up a notch from just doing what my wushu school offers me right now.
After I got done at practice, we biffed on over to Cascade Locks on Saturday afternoon, after wanting to hike the Eagle Creek trail and finding that it was closed. We decided to stay overnight, since it was getting late, and we hiked part of the PCT the next day. Also: big jacuzzi tub in a nice room for cheap! Small towns can be kind of rad that way.
We also got a surprise invite to a party by one of our photographer friends, so that was cool. They're nice folks, and they went kind of bananas on the party food, heh. I can always appreciate people who go the extra mile on their party snacks, haha. ;) Apparently, they like to hike, too, so maybe we'll all get out there sometime.
Anyhoo, that's all I've got. I'm going to have a nutso week, for sure.
