A quiz for you: The Guillibility Factor Test! (I got an 85)

So, the weekend was great. The cabin far exceeded my expectations, and although it was a small, one-room space, it was *really* nice. The place was well-stocked, so all we really had to bring was food and clothes. We went canoeing, napped on the outside deck, and had some relaxed-and-groovy times. We made big, tasty breakfasts and broiled fish in the oven! I'm of the opinion that trout smells too dreadful for me to eat, but Ben made some tasty salmon, so it was all good. :)

Two of the many pictures taken--mostly by Michael and David--over the weekend:

A look at the inside of the cabin. The whole thing was really nice, and the kitchen area was supplied well enough that we were able to do some real cooking!

This is mere minutes before the hook holding up the foot-end of the hammock literally BROKE OFF and sent us crashing to the ground and landing on our butts. Yeah, maybe swinging with two people in the hammock wasn't such a great idea. XD

In other news, the wushu demo went really well! It was the first demo this year where any of the newcomers elected to perform, and they did such a great job. It helps that several of them are crazy trickers and can do impressive-looking jumps, but more importantly, they held together on their forms really well. They hadn't even finished learning the entire form until this past Friday, and they still pulled it off, so I am *really* proud! I am less-than-proud of myself, however, because my performance was slow and sloppy. (that's what I get for eating so much while we were at the cabin, hurhurhur) Well, now that most of the newbies are finished or almost done with their forms, maybe I can give my own training a little more attention.

Speaking of which, this Facebook group is about one of my favorite wushu kids, heh! He was a newcomer last year, and I swear, that kid doesn't let anything hold him back. Sometimes that freaks me out, because he always looks like he's going to train too hard and injure himself, so I run around flailing and telling him to be careful all the time. You have to respect that kind of spirit, though.

Last night, I told Ben a couple of embarrassing anecdotes from years ago that I don't think I've *ever* told anybody. I'd almost forgotten about them until he told an embarrassing anecdote of his own that reminded me of it. I'm amazed sometimes at the random things we can talk about. It also led me to the notion that I have a ridiculous amount of shame about things that I probably shouldn't be so ashamed of. You get embarassed about things when they happen, and it takes a while before you look back and realize how ridiculous and silly some of that stuff is. Once you're past the embarassment phase, it's a lot more fun to release it and let go of it.

Also: no, I am not going to share my anecdotes here. Yeah, I know, I just went off about how I should be less ashamed of stupid things like that, but this *is* the Internet, and I am not that stupid. ;p

There are still some things in my history that I don't really tend to share, though, and they're sad things. Don't get me wrong, they're *not* like, traumatic child abuse kind of things... not even close!! But they're still sad things, because people weren't nice, and I was a hypersensitive person growing up. It seems burdensome to dredge up years-old sadness in one's past, though, and I feel like that's something you can't really do with just anyone. There's a certain point you have to come to before it really becomes comfortable, and there's a certain mood that you have to be in before you do it.

I haven't had a super-best-friend that I could tell everything to for quite some time, so it's been a good while for me. Those tell-everything kind of friendships aren't something you can really force, and I'm not really sure where to start, even when I'm *in* a comfortable situation. But eh, it'll happen sometime. :)

Judging by some of the sites that quiz is linking to--starting with a Scientology front group--I'd venture the lower your score, the better.
