a list

Earlier today, I wrote down a short and far-from-complete list of things I will be really sad about if I don't end up doing them at some point in my life. It was as follows:

Go to effin' Japan!!
Get Dad to do the Alaska Trip
Listen to more of Grandpa's stories
Raise an awesome kid (or two)
Move somewhere better than Eugene
Go to Europe (and bike around maybe)
Visit Taiwan, so I'll actually remember it
Create something worthy of non-internet-based notoreity
Try harder to understand my mom
Work really hard at something and have it pay off
Train @ BUPE (if my body is up to it)
Get married (duh)
Learn my mom's recipes (since she'll never write them down)

I'm thinking I'll be adding more to this list, and/or elaborating upon what's already on it, at some point in the near future.

Go to EFFIN JAPAN, INDEED! :D

And if you do that, I'll be jealous, cuz I still haven't managed to get there.

Hopefully by next month or so Eric and I will have a nice new apartment here in Tokyo should you ever need a place to stay for that Japan trip.

I think it was in the Peace Corps that someone mentioned the list of 100 things you'd like to do before you die. I had fun making it up. Seems good to figure out what you want.

Heh, personally, I made a list like that when I was fairly young, and stuck to it:

1) Become a geneticist, and work on ways to slow down the human ageing process, so that people can live to be 200 years old.

2) think up 98 things to put on the list when I'm about 120 y/o.

I'm still working on it. :)
