My life must be turning into a sitcom or a horror movie, because I JUST GOT TRAPPED IN AN ELEVATOR!! XD

We were going to go upstairs and play the daily One-Dart game on the dartboard, so 11 of us crammed into the elevator, and we got about 3 inches away from the top floor when the elevator stopped. The doors wouldn't open, even though we pushed all the possible buttons aside from the Fire Emergency button.

We were waiting probably 10 or 15 minutes for the elevator technicians to come and get us out, and then *somebody* had to bring up that scene from Resident Evil... if you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about. ::rotfl:: Three people had their cell phones, and started calling other people in the office and leaving hilarious, "OMG WE'RE TRAPPED IN THE ELEVATOR WE'RE GOING TO DIIIEEE" voicemails, and there was lots of joking about whether or not we were getting paid for being trapped in an elevator... it was pretty entertaining, actually.

The elevator is supposed to carry about 2000 lbs, which means that we'd have to be an average of 180+ lb. each to be too heavy. It was me and a bunch of skinny developers, and the 6'5" guy that was in there weighs 190, so... yeah, not exactly 2000 lbs, there. You figure it out. ;p

I am grateful that I'm not claustrophobic. Heh.

Yeah, I think it would've been scarier if I'd been alone in the elevator, esp. since I didn't have my cell phone handy. Having 10 wisecracking devs in there with me made it much more bearable. :)

Yep! It was. I couldn't tell you which elevator it was (since I wasn't one of them), though. And the guys that were packed in there probably outweighed your group. *cough*
