Weekend was okay. Very tiring. And, I also may cry if I am faced with a Little Debbie snack cake in the near future. (seriously, I can only take so many of those things) But pretty fun. Played games and such at the fair and won some random knickknackery. One Dart has made me pretty rockin' at the Pop-Balloons-With-Darts game at the fair, heh. :)

Stayed home from work today, because I was feeling very not-good. I think a nice, long sleep tonight will solve that the rest of the way.

Gizmo went in to the vet this morning, because as of yesterday morning, he was yelping in pain periodically, and it freaked us out because it was very not-normal for him. They're treating him for a pinched nerve in his spinal column--spinal problems are apparently more common in daschunds than most other dogs--and he'll be back sometime tomorrow. I keep forgetting that he's not here, and it's kind of depressing when I start to whistle for him, and then realize that he's not here to answer it.

I only got two things done today: my kitchen is clean, and Fiz is lvl 48. Otherwise, I rested a lot.

In other news? (and on a lighter note?) CHRISTOPHER WALKEN IN 2008!! LMAO!

That's all.

Is this getting to be a bad thing? I don't deny that any person can be qualified to hold any public office. That's the idea of public office. But I had a conversation with a Swiss friend of mine, and he says that the rest of the world is just laughing at us. (That was specifically in regard to Arnold getting elected governor of California.) Is it good or bad to have celebrities as our leaders?

Poor Giz! My family has had dachshunds all of my life, and two of them had to be put to sleep for disc-related injuries to their backs. My advice (and several vets' advice that we've had over the years)--since Gizmo is older--is to not let him jump down off furniture anymore. That is how both of our dogs injured themselves. Of course, this is easier said than done with an active dog, but with vigilance, we've been able to do it with our other dogs. :D

Yah, it's something I've been thinking about, what with the new bed and it being significantly higher off the ground than our previous one. But yeah, he's super-active, so it could be easier said than done.

We're actually thinking that he might have gotten hurt while we were in K-Falls, though, because he didn't start yelping until Sunday morning. We're not sure exactly what could've happened, though, because he was just biffing around in the backyard, where there aren't a lot of things to jump onto/off of. :(
