Well, I missed out on the big demo today. Grr!

My eye started itching a bit around 6pm or so yesterday, and as of this morning, my eye was sticky, and swollen to the point where I could hardly see out of it. So, I got to go to the doctor this morning, and find out that I have a "rip-roaring case of conjunctivitis," otherwise known as PINKEYE!

(No, I am not going to eat your brains.)

So yeah, instead of going to Portland and doing the superfun demo at Pioneer Square that I was totally pumped about, I got to go to the doctor and get funky yellowish eyedrops. YAY.

Well, at least James came back yesterday, and we got to hang out and have some fun. Oh, and we saw Kingdom of Heaven earlier in the day. That was a li'l bit of all right.

Also, I actually liked the doctor I saw today a fair shade better than I like the guy who is supposed to be my primary care physician. He was very nice, and very competent, and put me at ease. So, I may switch my primary care doctor to this other guy, if possible.

Still. Grrrrrr.

Well, if it's any consolation, I was totally gonna go watch the demo, and then I forgot, because I was so busy with homework.

So it all worked out.

Sort of.
I think.

Did you get it from Scott Baio on the alien ship? :>

LOL :D

At least if I got it from [livejournal.com profile] polysciguy, then I know I'm not the original zombie. Yay! :D

Oooh, pinkeye sucks. I got it so bad when I was five years old, that I couldn't open my eyes for almost a whole day. My parents freaked out because my dad had sprayed the backyard the previous day, and they thought it was a reaction to the poison. I looked like a mutant.

Heh, yeah, I've never had it before, but when I woke up on Sunday, I couldn't see out of my right eye because of how swollen it was. It looked like somebody punched me in the face! ^^;

OMG! that's so damn random! i just went to the doctor on friday because my friggen' eye was all crusty and red for two days and i have pink eye too! i don't know if they tortured you with bacterial swabs, but i've decided that a sharp kick in the shins is better than swabbing my swollen, itchy, burning eye with a q-tip by some over the top japanese woman shorter than me. *insert random japanese rambling* then "ichi, ni, san!" and on "san" she swiped my eye! my eye started pouring!! i'm like, "lady! could you wait until my translator gets here before you start making my eye bleed?!"

sorry you missed the demo. i feel you, man. i missed the demo too. = ] oh, and i have to wear my glasses for a week and use two kinds of drops three times a day that make my eye burn. and my poor monthly contacts were wasted. opened them on the 1st and the doctor said i had to toss them unless i could boil them in water for ten minutes. yeah... that's not gonna happen.

That's so weird that you ahve pinkeye too, LOL! Japanese doctors sound kind of terrifying--all the doctor here did to me was put some funky dye in my eye to look for scratches on the surface of my eye, and then he wrote me a prescription. ::shrug:: I did get in there ASAP, though; it was less than 24 hours after the itching started.

I hope your eye gets better fast! :)

I always hated pinkeye as a kid. And having 4 other siblings, when one of us got it the rest were soon to follow. Eyedrops are no fun, but they do help.
