I am utterly fascinated by the speech accent archive. Lots of recordings of various accents, and some common characteristics of speakers from different areas. Yee! I could have some fun with this.

I am amused enough by this page that I want to submit a sample, but I think that my accent is all kinds of crazy, having a Chinese mom, a Midwestern dad, and spending portions of my first 18 years in California, Maryland, *and* Oregon. I once did a survey for a writing teacher I had a few years ago, and she pretty much declared that I was something of an anomaly when it comes to typical speech patterns for different areas of the U.S. Heh heh. :)

In other news, I got a package yesterday, containing a 1-Up Mushroom T-shirt, courtesy of dakania! So awesome!

Anyway, yesterday was uneventful, because I felt all sick and such, so I went home, ate dinner, watched some TV and pretty much passed out for the night. HOW EXCITING!! The sleep was good, though. Kind of dreading wushu tonight, on the grounds that I'm pretty sore. Not as sore as I've been previously, though, because at least I'm not making groany Dad Noises every time I get up from my office chair. ;ppp

It is TOO DAMNED COLD OUTSIDE. My hands and feet run a bit cold as a generality, but I've been at the office for nearly 5 hours and my hands are only just now starting to actually feel warm. And that's after 2 cups of tea and some hot soup. SO COLD. x_x

Anyway, I'm off for now, I suppose.

LOL, I'd totally forgotten that you mentioned that site... I stumbled upon it while reading a forum yesterday. ^^;

I totally agree on Japanese Speaker 7, though. I listened to that yesterday and was pretty flabbergasted at how little of an NJ accent the guy had! Jeezy.

Eh, I didn't really know the guy too terribly well--only through LJ. I took him off my watchlist a while ago because he stopped posting, so I dunno where he's at nowadays. ::shrug:: Sorry I couldn't be more help!
