batskeetsOne of the anchors on The Daily Show said that this morning, in regards to Dubya's speech to the UN about nukes in Iraq. I about peed my pants laughing, esp. because people saying "nukuler" when they're talking about NUCLEAR weapons and NUCLEAR power plants is one of my pet peeves. Say it with me, now: "NOO-KLEE-ARR!" ::rotfl::
Anyways, the interview didn't go until 45 minutes after it was scheduled for. ::rotfl:: They got their wires crossed and thought I was at 2pm, not 1. After I actually got in there, everything was going along fine until we started talking scheduling. They were very flexible for the most part, but they needed me to work from 9:30a-6p on Mondays, which I obviously can't do because I have classes. DAMNIT. :p But he did say that he had my resume, and if they need anyone with my skills later on, they can get in touch with me.
On the up side I *finally* heard back from an on-campus job today--a pretty sweet tech support job at Student Affairs/Career Center. All they said they were going through their applications, and were going to update us on Tuesday, and hopefully start interviews on Wednesday, but GOD, it's just nice to see *some* sign of life from these people. Lately I've started to feel like I'm sending my resume into a gigantic black hole. But, geh, maybe it's a sign that things will start picking up soon.
And OMFG PAID PRINTING BLOWS! ::explodes:: I totally understand the rationale behind going over to paid printing, but I had to go through way too much today just to print out a stupid cover letter. Oh, and half the places on campus are closed, so right now I'm at the freakin' Knight Library, and I've been running around like crazy trying to put money on my card so I can print one stinking page. I hope they have their act a bit more together when Fall Term rolls around, and all the labs re-open, or it's going to be nasty for all the poor labbies.
Anyways, I'm going to go turn in my application for DDS, play some DDR, get some food, and GO HOME. :p
