I might actually watch the new Star Trek series they're coming out with. And Scott Bakula is the captain! I loved him in Quantum Leap; this completely and totally rocks. I really hope the show does well! It sounds like they might be returning to their roots a little.

Wow, how about that. They actually went and did it. "The concept that would not die" not that I want it to die. I love Star Trek. I just didn't think they were going to do it so soon.

As a former Quantum Leap fan and all around Scott Bakula appreciator, I'm actually thrilled about this news. I gave up on Voyager after a year and haven't missed it since but I *might* actually have to tune in for this one. Depending on how much actual creative input Scott has and where the writing goes, it might actually be good. Then again, there is the twin act of Berman & Braga to contend with so I am still trepidatious about it.

Still, it'll be nice to see Scott on tv once a week again. :-) And who knows, he might even do the convention circuit this time. LOL

scott is my boy! I was addicted to quantum leap. He seemed to genuinely care about other people...that's getting pretty rare these days.

I'm with you: I watched Voyager early on, but I eventually got bored with it, and then they started switching around the day and time it was shown and so forth, so I just gave up on it. It wasn't good enough to follow around *that* much.

I'm really hoping that the new Trek will be better than Voyager, b/c QL was fan-freakin'-tastic, and I'd love for Scott to get more good material like that.

Oh. Joy.

Does this mean that, in ten years time, Bakula will move on to play the Big Giant Head?

Same here. The last season of QL was kind of sucky but I blame that on Donald Bellasario more than anything else. My friend and I did a QL humour 'zine at the time which was pretty fun. Sadly, nowadays the only QL fan fiction I see is slash stuff. :-/

That's the best Star Trek news I've heard in a long time. I love Quantum Leap, I still watch reruns of it when I go to my parent's house. I hope this series turns out to be at least half as cool as that one.
