Today was long and dull.
I was pretty awake when I went to Multimedia Survey today, and I was reminded once again of how much I dislike Joey Bargsten as an instructor. Alex warned me, but did I listen? HECK no. ::rotfl:: Seriously, though, this guy doesn't really seem to be on top of things. He comes in with these elaborate Flash visual aids, but then he just ends up pausing and saying "um" every other word while he's lecturing. Not that I'm one to talk when it comes to "um"s and pauses, but if *I* were giving a lecture every day, I'd be better prepared to speak.
We got James some new glasses, after he wiped out on my bike yesterday and scratched and bent them up something horrible. I have a nice big gap in my schedule between 9:30am and 3pm, so I drove him over to Binyon's after I got out of Survey, and he got a nice buy 1 get 1 free deal. His "real" glasses (the ones that have the cool Transitions tinting that gets darker in the sun) are supposed to be done in a week or two, but he's got a nice, un-bent, and un-scratched backup pair to wear in the meantime. He was overdue for a new pair anyway, so it all works out.
The bike's busted too, and I don't really know how to fix it, or if it's even fixable at all. But I guess I don't feel particularly bad, because it *was* $10 for almost a year's worth of service. SO, rather than spending more money than the old bike was worth to get it fixed, I used that money to get another, nicer bike today, after going to my morning class and realizing how much slower and more annoying it is to walk. Hopefully it will hold up longer too.
Choir was BORING today. Oh my freakin' GOD. Lesa was out Tuesday and she was out again today, so we got a substitute who seemed like she wanted to be there about as much as she wanted a root canal. The music doesn't look as challenging as last term, either, which kind of sucks... but we didn't look at all of it today, so there's hope left in me yet. I can't *wait* until Lesa comes back next week.
Oh yeah, as of yesterday afternoon, the drawing class was officially full, and he wouldn't let me into it. BEH. And don't even get me *started* about trying to get into the CIT class. In sum: there *is* no waiting list, the prof is totally *not* dealing with anyone, and the department head *still* hasn't answered anyone about joining the class, even though the front desk told us to contact her. WHAT THE HELL?!
Tonight: read, read, watch Survivor, read! I have Linguistics that needs doing, as well as some Art History. I'd read for Survey too, but the books still aren't in, and that's annoying.
