We're in the Portland Mercury again! They did a really nice article on our jewelry client from last fall, as in the one who made me that awesome long necklace with the metal charm and different types of chain. Love her! I wish I had more money to buy her things, so I could support her craft, but she's doing well and getting a lot of buzz!
I hate how they cropped the 4th photo, though, and don't understand why they did it. I hope they didn't do that for print, as well. :p
Even if we don't get a lot of commercial clients most of the time, I'm so glad the ones we DO get are such awesome people, on top of being amazing at what they do. Yaaaayyy :D
In other news, I was roped into talking to a group of at-risk kids about my job this morning, at the last minute! My co-worker who was supposed to do it got sick, apparently. That was, eh, a little scary. I didn't have any work to show them because I had maybe 10 minutes to pull myself together, but I got through it and got the point across that education's important to doing what you want to do in life. (which was supposed to be the point of the talk) I did throw in that learning on your own is important, too, because, well, that IS where I got the majority of my mad skillz.
The good news is, I got to take pictures during the other presenters, so hopefully they'll look at mine, see that they're awesome, and call upon me to do it more often in the future.
Oy. I need to eat now.
