I've been idly tossing around this photography project off and on since a couple years ago, when I still posed for photoshoots. The PDX artist who took this shot had a discussion with me about societal expectations of women, and about my experience as a larger woman (and, at the time, a larger-sized model). He'd encouraged me to think about how I might express some of that through photos, so that we could do something along those lines when we collaborated again.

Of course, we never *did* collaborate again, (which is too bad, because he was such an interesting and amazing character) but I still think about those ideas, in a broader scope that includes other women, rather than being centered on my own experience. That way, it'd make for a nice project that could lead somewhere I'm not expecting.

I'm basically thinking of images that represent things such as:
--things you find appealing about yourself
--things you find distasteful about yourself
--places or situations where you feel powerful, self-fulfilled, etc.
--places or situations where you feel weak or uncomfortable
--struggles you have dealt with in life
--how external expectations and pressures affect you
--breaking out beyond those expectations, or what you do (or wish you could) to break past them

I'd likely ask that you do at least one positive and one negative image. So, yeah, it's something that could get pretty personal, but hopefully it'll come together in an empowering and unifying way.

Anyhoo, I know some of y'all are interested in doing a shoot, so if you're comfy with doing something that fits in with this line of thinking, hit me up. I'm not sure when I will start, but I'd like to get a list going, at least. :)
