Training

So, hey, happy news: I've only been on it for about 10 days, but so far, I'm really liking the new program I got from my nutritional consultant.

My lifting schedule has been changed to split things into groups of body parts, which I was hesitant about at first, because I thought I'd be spending forever in the gym. BUT, with the new format, the workouts take half as long as my old ones did, and it's supposed to be easier on my muscles, because I have more recovery time between workouts. Awesome!

The one part I don't love is the cardio, which is in the form of high intensity intervals. Y'all know that I hate doing steady-state cardio, so I'd be sour on this no matter what. But, if it helps the cause, I'll do it, and the intervals make it less mind-numblingly boring, at least. But, with my foot sprain, I have to do low/no-impact activity, so I'm basically stuck on a stationary bike or an elliptical machine, which is a snore-fest. Hopefully it'll suck less once my foot gets better and I have more options, and it's still shorter than what I used to attempt for cardio.

And, the most important part: THE FOOD. The main changes are keeping my food choices "clean," (i.e. natural, unprocessed stuff), watching macronutrient ratios, and having certain nutrients only at certain times of day, to keep with my goals. It is kind of a pain, because I'm having to measure and log things meticulously right now, but once I get a handle on that, it'll be easier.

Most importantly, I don't go around feeling hungry and deprived all the time, which I sometimes did even when I wasn't really "dieting." I eat 5 or 6 times a day! AND, I have energy to train hard at wushu, even with the extra cardio thrown in there. No dizziness or sluggishness or anything. That's pretty huge!

I don't want to speak to results or performance improvements yet, because, well, it's been a week and a half, and lord knows it's too early to expect *that* much. ;p But I'm pumped to see how I do once my foot gets better!

So, in conclusion: YAY. :D
