Moooooooovies
Jun. 5th, 2008 10:10 amThings viewed semi-recently that you may or may not want to watch:
the new Indiana Jones flick: Yes, it has ( mild spoiler ) And some have said that it's more like Temple of Doom than Raiders, in terms of quality. I can't say that I disagree, really. And I'm sure it was George Lucas' idea to leave a steaming crap-pile of CGI in the middle of those action scenes.
Honestly, if you go in there determined to pick at it and ruin it for yourself, then you'll surely succeed at that. If you don't? Well, you might actually have yourself a good time! It was fun seeing Indy in action again, and although I probably won't view it a second time, it was a nice diversion.
Also, Cate Blanchett almost caused me to give up on my long hair mission and get a severe-but-sassy bob. But then I remembered that everything in the known universe looks good on Cate Blanchett, so I came to my senses. ;p
Be Kind, Rewind: I had no idea what to expect from this one, because I'd read nothing about it, and when Jack Black and Mos Def get top billing, well, you could be in for quite a stinker.
This one, fortunately, wasn't, and I have to admit that they had me cracking up in a few parts. If you watch a lot of movies (which I think is pretty much everyone on this list) you'll probably enjoy at least some of it. It won't change your world view or anything, but it's cute and fun.
Agh. Busy today, so off I go.
