In the realm of WTF? news: Bike sex man placed on probation. All I can figure is, the sheep must be jealous. ;)

Anyhoo! The rest of my time back east was relaxy and fun. :D [livejournal.com profile] ghost_girl and Matt are awesome for putting me up for 4 nights, and they were good hosts! I'd done the whole D.C. sightseeing thing back when I was 12 and didn't hate the government yet, so we wound up hanging out and playing games and visiting with each other. (I do need to go back someday and check out the spy museum, though) They also introduced me to The Cheesecake Factory, which OMG SO GOOD. I'd heard the legend from a few different people, but the food was good, and seriously? 30-some-odd kinds of cheesecake. MY GOD.

Also awesome was the fact that [livejournal.com profile] dakania dragged his butt all the way up from SC to hang with me on tournament day! (blame him for the "um, yay?" medal photo) The boy is crazy and never sleeps, but lord knows when we'll be on the same coast again, so he drove on up and we bopped around D.C. after the tournament let out--and by the way, driving in DC is TERRIFYING and makes no sense--and ate boxty and had good times.

I also wound up doing two photoshoots. The first one was a model shoot, and it was frustrating, largely due to the shooting conditions. The models weren't available until 5pm, so after they gave me a few options, I chose an "indoor garden," because it sounded like it'd be the most weatherproof and the most likely to be lit after dark. Sadly, it was neither: it wasn't really an indoor garden at all, but more of a courtyard, so it was slightly wet and very dark. :p I'll be able to pull out some decent shots in post (thank god for Speedlites), but they were frustrating conditions to work in, and it's too bad, because the models were good, and the wardrobe stylist brought some crazy-awesome stuff.

The second one, fortunately, was awwweeeesome. One of my wushu comrades wanted some photos done, so she could get some prints done for her family, but it also ended up including shots of her posing with wushu weapons and a friend of hers who does breakdancing. I could try to describe, but I'll just have to show y'all once I get them done! It was a fun shoot, and we went out for a quick drink afterwards to hang out and chat.

Anyhoo, this past weekend was too short and busy, but I've got things to do, so that'll come later. And w00t w00t for two short workweeks in a row!
