Well, the weekend was kind of crappy, but that was largely the fault of the weather. Lots and lots of rain, boooooo.

We didn't let the rain keep us completely cooped up, though: we hit up the North American Organic Brewers Festival, and sampled interesting libations like Backhand of God Stout and Habanero Chocolate Stout. Definitely worth getting drizzled on a bit. :)

Otherwise, it was a pretty indoors-y weekend. Reading at Powell's, going for walks, watching Grindhouse at the Mission Theater--the whole thing was silly, but I agree with whoever said that Planet Terror was the worse of the two--starting on the painting of our photo studio (got the walls primed yesterday!), and digging around at Goodwill for pirate costume fodder.

And speaking of pirate costume fodder, all you crazy Portlanders MUST come along next Saturday: PLUNDERATHON! It's going to be a bunch of people running around the city dressed up like pirates, with lots of pint-clanking and generalized ruckus-making. It sounds nuts, but in that awesome sort of way. Yea-uh!

We'll be there, naturally. I have most of my outfit planned out, and it'll probably be very Dread Pirate Roberts-ish. (i.e. most- or all-black with headscarf thingy) And I will have an effing SWORD. Because you know I love any excuse to carry a sword, heh.

Also in good news, I'm assembling a small-but-feisty team of minions for freelance design work, going forward... and I may need it, because I'm getting offers, here and there. Not *many*, mind you, it's nothing quite that crazy. But, when people you thought would require a hefty sales pitch are coming to you before you even *give* the pitch? That can't be a terrible sign. :)

I also accidentally got quasi-promoted at Wushu on Saturday, heh. I had to miss a class for a client meeting last Saturday, but I didn't know when I could make up the class, so I asked if I could do basics with the class after mine, to make up for the class I missed. I guess they thought I meant something more permanent, though, because they transferred me into the Friday yellow/green belt class. That works better with my schedule at The Job anyway, but it kind of makes me laugh. And I get to do more advanced basics at least once a week. Yay!

I had some other thoughts, but they’re escaping me at the moment, so I'm off. ::poof!::
