Nov. 2nd, 2004

I have the worst headache of all time today, and even the coffee didn't fix it. And I will attempt to write almost 3500 words this evening while I watch the election coverage provided by my beloved Jon Stewart (who is Not Your Monkey) and his merry band of fake newspeople. This is because I didn't Nano at all yesterday. I sincerely hope that I don't wind up being too busy for this, but it may very well happen with all the wushu and gym time. I'm not allowed to have more than one big goal at a time, it seems.

In other news, today's the big day. And no, I'm not going to tell you to vote with a message in big block letters. At least 50% of the posts on your Friends Page are probably already doing that, after all, and I trust that you're all responsible, educated ladies and gents who know that it's important to vote, so I won't preach to you about it.

And by the time many of you see this post, you'll have already done it. It doesn't really bear repeating. *Especially* if you live in a swing state, and are therefore in the same unfortunate group as I am, that group being the group that has been receiving numerous calls from political groups on a daily basis.

So yeah, don't prove me wrong by missing out on this election. Because if you do, then YOU are partly to blame for my phone ringing off the hook with political calls and pushing me to the brink of insanity! And you know, maybe if enough of us 20-somethings vote this time around, we won't be so constantly harassed about it in 2008. Doesn't that sound nice?

Anyway, so at least some of you don't leave with a cloud of cranky hanging over your head, here's a funny article. Well, assuming you aren't a Bush voter. Why? Example: "It is just the sort of Americans who know they are neither clever nor good-looking who will vote for Bush." Obviously not entirely true--and I say this primarily out of respect for my parents and [livejournal.com profile] polysciguy, all of whom are neither dumb nor ugly :)--but still, hee.

Also: early voting is The Awesome. Every state should do it! I feel bad for everyone who has to stand in some crazy line just do something as simple as voting.

Anyway, it's time to finish my lunch, so I'm off.
