My day was pretty much a wash as far as being productive. I woke up late, which was totally my fault. But then I was distracted by friends, and my mom had me on the phone, *again*, for well over an hour, so I'm not completely to blame. I did find my insulated lunchbox, at least! But, I still have way too much that I want to get done between now and Tuesday morning.
alaindan got here mid-evening, so I must have given passable directions to my house! :D He met a few of my friends here in the building on our way out, and then we headed way out to the West end of town, to find a DDR machine. The EMU is closed, and I'd also heard that Wunderland was closed, so I managed to scout out some weird family fun center called All That And More.
There were quite a few little kids running around the place, but they had two DDR machines, one of which was set on Joint Premium, which means that you don't have to pay extra to add a second player. Whee! Dan had some pretty mad freestyling skills, and also does doubles far better than I ever have. Ph33r the power! :O
Also of note: HOLY CRAP I PASSED MY FIRST CATA!! :D It was Orion .78 on Heavy, and I did it with the 2x speed mod. It actually seemed pretty easy with the speed mod, but still! I did it! I passed with a B! A winner is me!
So, yes, my evening was very cool. We didn't have time to go out for food, because he and his S.O. had to leave at a semi-decent hour for Ashland, but the game-playing and random chatter was great fun.
Work, on the other hand, kind of stunk. It was pretty busy for one van, but I don't normally mind it being busy. However, most of these people were also being taken to *really* far-off and/or difficult-to-find places. I had to go out to 39th St. in Springfield, at one point. Can you say ghetto fabulous? I thought you could. :) In fairness, the rider's apartment complex actually looked really nice, but the surrounding buildings were all run-down industrial and commercial buildings, so it was a really scuzzy neighborhood. I was also really tired for a couple hours in the middle, too, which made it all seem worse. We did get good tips, though, so that was nice. Maybe the Christmas season is bringing out the generosity in our riders. :)
To do tomorrow: Do the last bit of shopping, wrap gifts, get/try out tire chains for the car, print out invoices, do freelance stupf I didn't get done today, try to get knitting project finished. Oh, and laundry.
Okay, I'm really going to get up before noon tomorrow. Mark my words!
