I'm fairly choosy about what chefs I watch on Food Network, so I must admit to thinking that, from the few snippets I'd seen in my channel surfing, the guy on Surreal Gourmet came off as some wank novice who yanked a few too many hair styling tips from David Boreanaz. (Seriously. Look at this guy. ::rotfl::)

But then, we happened upon this episode the other day, and I must admit to being impressed.

Yes, he actually cooked a fish ON A CAR ENGINE. The car was actually in motion while the fish was cooking! And it actually came out good! Or at least, it looked like a well-cooked fish on the tele, anyway. I still think the guy's kind of a wanker on the whole, but this? Pretty damned cool.

I can't believe there wasn't a UO community already, but now there's a newly-created one: [livejournal.com profile] uoregon. Go and be free with the duckies!

I *finally* went in and did my paperwork today, so I can actually get paid by ONHW. I might actually get some money from them by month's end! Gweee! I also bought some cheap fabric for some makeshift curtains. I'm just going to pin it over the yicky off-white curtains here in the bedroom. I was hoping for a more interestingly textured fabric, but the textures I liked only came in awful pastels.

I think I'm starting to come up with an idea for Nanowrimo. Thing is, some aspects of the concept might hit a bit close to home, and that could get hairy. But I'm also thinking that I could write the novel for use as a script for The Webcomic That Wouldn't Die/Live. (the idea won't die, the actual comic won't come to life)

I can't believe people are going to start coming back to town soon. Where did my summer go?? ;_;
