May. 1st, 2001
I'm tired. I need to go to bed earlier on Monday and Wednesday nights. x_x FORTUNATELY, all that's left today is work work work, and choir. Oh yeah, and linguistics discussion.
I have to study for a midterm tonight with Sarah. I think I'll do okay, but they haven't gone over what's actually going to be *on* the midterm yet, so I don't have much of a yardstick just now. Bleh... hopefully discussion will clear that up.

Sometimes, technology sucks. A LOT.
May. 1st, 2001 10:58 amIn this case, it's the "friendly" Audix messaging system that EVERY OFFICE ON THIS CAMPUS has. For some reason, it doesn't recognize my login for the office messages anymore, and that's annoying. Now I have to sit here with that stupid little red light flashing at me until Dan or Andre comes back and (hopefully) tells me what's up with that.
If there were more hours in the day...
May. 1st, 2001 01:17 pmY'know what I miss? Reading. And I don't mean like reading for class, I mean recreational reading. I haven't actually been able to finish a book since my failed trip to ACen last spring, and that's really lame.
I used to read before bedtime, but I'm kind of afraid to do that now, because the whole reading/sleeping association isn't good for my academic reading... but I could really go for a nice, fun book right about now. Some Vonnegut would be awesome, although I'll settle for Anne Rice. Or maybe some Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Chronicle of a Death Foretold was pretty cool.

I HAVE VANQUISHED THEE...
May. 1st, 2001 02:10 pm...O EVIL AUDIX SYSTEM! I finally got logged in to get the phone messages, thereby squelching the evil flashy red light. Having something red and flashy in your peripheral vision is a lot more annoying and distracting than you might think.
Okay, that's it.
May. 1st, 2001 02:24 pmI simply MUST school the locals on the intricacies of Japanese rock bands. Dynee just came in and looked at Punk Rock Girl, and became the *THIRD* person in the span of less than 24 hours who thought that Hyde was a chick. I mean, yeah, he's short and petite, but jeeeebus! Y'alls need schoolin'!
Which reminds me, I should do some advertising for Street Team tomorrow afternoon, since my last midterm will take place tomorrow *morning*. I'm thinking I should hit APASU, Face the Music, and Sakura, which should be easy enough for starters. Any of you Eugenians have other ideas for music stores or Japanese-themed clubs/restaurants/sushi bars/whatever?

Linguistics and FUD!
May. 1st, 2001 07:36 pmWe did a little studying and I looked at Sarah's notes for yesterday, so I think I'm okay. We also talked about paper topics, which made me realize that I'm way out in left field as compared to other people in this class, because they've all had psych or linguistics (or both) before, whereas all I've ever taken in either field was Psych 201, and that was in Freshman year. BUT I figure I can do it if I try.
Oh yeah, and fud = food. (I forget the code for an umlauted "u") Felicia went out and picked up food for us all. Hooray! :D We like people who bring us food. She is currently trying to get James to decide if he's going to share a place with her or not, and she's doing a better job than I am. I haven't quite gotten the Make James Be Decisive spell down yet. ^_-

Blah blah blah...
May. 1st, 2001 10:53 pmBuffy was good. I'm surprised that they let that happen to Tara though... and it was also surprising to see Willow flying off the handle so much. I definitely got weepy near the end, but not in full-cry mode. It was really sad! I hope they fix Tara somehow, because it would just be lame to leave her like that. :(
Angel was good too! It was interesting to see The Host's roots a bit. And oh, bring us more Sassy!Angel, please? I'm really, really digging it.
I need to work out, since I didn't get the chance to earlier, and then, well, probably bedtime.
