A Photo Making Month
Nov. 1st, 2012 03:08 pmA large portion of the people I know typically get eaten around this time of year, because NaNoWriMo is in November, and I know more than a few people with writerly aspirations. I don't have any particular motivation to write (obviously, given that I've barely posted anything on any blog, as of recent), but I thought, "jeez, there should be a photographer equivalent." Sad fact is, I do great work, but I don't do enough of it, and I'd really like to have more of a photo-taking habit again.
SO. I guess I'm sort of making up an equivalent. If you wanted to do the proper math, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then I'd have to produce 50 photos in November to equal NaNoWriMo's novel, or 1 2/3rds photos per day. So, that'll be my aim, but I reserve the right to round down because it's a dark world, and post 1 photo per day.
Of course, I might crap out on this before the week is over, because I'm always trying to do too many damned things in a given day, but voila! The intention is now out in the world. Oy vey.
Anyhoo:
11/01/2012: Me being tired at the studio, worn out from a string of Halloween-y shindigs the evening before. The little windowed corner of my studio is the one consistent source of nice, natural light in my regular day. I liked the windowpane shadow being cast on the curtain behind me, and this also gives a peek of my newly-updated 'do. (now with 100% more obnoxiously bright color!) Quite a shift from the long, blonde wig I sported for Halloween.

(I sincerely hope this doesn't become a month-long string of self-portraits, because, uck, that'd get boring.)
