Last week was crazypants: three different shoots on three different evenings make one tired Skeets. And then I did another shoot this Monday, because I wanted to shoot outdoors and an opportunity presented itself. Clearly, this is a thing I like to spend my time doing.

Other things are moving right along. I've been making a concerned effort to mellow out and maximize what little relaxation time I have, and you know what's good for that? Video games. I've spent more than a few late nights playing Dragon Age, and I think I'm better for it--it hasn't exactly done wonders for my sleep schedule, but damned if I'm not getting a lot more accomplished during the day. Yeah, I said it: video games are making me a happier and more productive person. Ha!

My fancy B-complex supplements came in, finally. I have my next appointment next week, but I think I'm going to be impatient and ask to pick up the supplements sooner.

Derby-wise, my 2-year anniversary was this past Tuesday, and holy crow, that time has flown. [livejournal.com profile] marykae linked to some old photos from our first or second Wreckers practice, and we both look worlds different as skaters--I was Bambi on stilts back then! Now she's bouting, and I'm at a level where I'd easily be bouting, if I weren't in the Number 2 league in the world. I think I'm draftable. It could certainly happen in September. We'll see. ;)

Oh, and almost as if it were a derby-versary gift, I finally got MSR cleared on Monday. Yeah, that only took five MONTHS. ::eyeroll:: It's kind of stupid that it took that long, because I'm far better than I was the first time I got cleared, but they kept saying it was a staffing issue--not enough people to watch us and check us off. Still, words can't possibly express how happy I am to finally have it done. I get to go to home team practices and be challenged!

I'm also actually not failing at networking, for once. I'm picking up a couple of new clients--one who was a referral from a current client, and one who said during our meeting that she had someone else to refer to me. Oh, and I met possibly the only other designer-and-photographer in the entire Portland area, and she's interested in forwarding me some work, too. Oh, and next weekend, I'll be shooting a big runway show, featuring a couple of my clients, and some other awesome local designers whom I hope will hire me to make pretty things for them.

Okay, so this really wasn't supposed to be all about work. Just, y'know, trust that I'm being a good monkey and not thinking about work constantly when I'm away from the computer.

Anyhoo, here are some teaser photos! You can probably tell who the pro-stylie model is out of the two, but the non-model was super-pretty--more than I think she was aware of.

Hey, whatever you do for your downtime is a good thing, right? So it's video games, so what. Haters gonna hate. ;)

I like the shots, and yes, you're right, she is.,

Heh, no, I'm certainly not apologizing for it--I want to play more games! I just found it amusing that it's made me more productive, since video games are so often blamed for laziness, lack of ambition, and the general decline of the youth of America. ;)

Yep, I'm right there with you. Video games are the absolute best way for me to destress. Feel awful and out of it? An hour of video game (or even less) will calm me down so that I can do something useful. I think perhaps for me it is because I can't obsess or worry or plan while I'm playing games. And I need that break desperately. Congrats on all the great stuff you have going on!!
