I seriously need a new professional headshot. I think the last time I posed for photos was over a year ago, for the Continuum blog (when I had a lot more hair), and I don't have anything else that looks professional or isn't watermarked by someone else. It'd be neat to do something conceptual, but even if I have the concept and lighting design in my own head, actually shooting it is another thing entirely.
I'd kind of like to see what another photographer would come up with, anyway. And, well, there's also the fact that I'm still feeling a bit of the post-holiday puffiness. That's getting better with the cleanse, though, and now that I'M PLAYING DERBY AGAIN it'll get better in no time. Maybe in a few weeks, once some other things have settled out, I'll revisit the thought.
Oh, and derby practice last night? AMAZING. I'm still kind of scared of lateral movement, but that's a mental block I can get past. Playing with Wreckers is definitely not the meat grinder of playing with Team skaters, and I definitely don't have the endurance to jam for a full two minutes anymore. Still, I made some pretty good plays as a blocker, and I jammed twice and got out of the pack first both times, woo!
I don't think it'd have mattered how I performed, though, because I was just so happy to be doing derby again. I needed that practice, down to my very soul, and I can't wait for Wreckers practice tomorrow.
And, in conclusion? I'm editing these photos today. Hooray for staring at food I can't currently eat!
