Best/Worst Idea Ever

So, I appear to be slowly losing weight again. Considering how stressed out I've been lately (stress usually makes me gain), and how many social activities I've been engaging in (yep, social drinker/eater to the Nth degree), this. Is. AWESOME.

In light of that, I am vaguely flirting with the notion of doing a bit of cosplay at PAX. But, I can't decide if rolling out that Psylocke costume in the midst of such a grand Geek Pilgrimage would be the best idea ever, or the absolute worst. XD Yeah, I *do* know kung fu, although I've never tried it in 3.5-inch heels. ;)

Anyhoo, yes. PAXPAXPAXPAXPAX. Regardless of the costuming question, I can't freakin' WAIT for Labor Day weekend, y'all.

Also keep in mind that, should you be hassled in costume, you will likely be surrounded by a giant posse who all have your back.

I would think that since you have a costume you should go ahead and rock it. While there may be lots of drooling fan boys, I (who am well known for wearing skimpy clothing at SF cons) have generally found them to be sweet and not aggressive. In fact, the only time I had someone freak me out at a con was this overly enthusiastic Tank Girl chick. Yikes! Yes, a couple of the more socially competent may flirt, but you are hot so why not enjoy it?

Heh, I was 99% joking with that; I don't actually think anyone would try anything. And even if they did, as sarapada mentioned, I'll have a good-sized posse with me. ;)

The weight loss is a practical consideration more than anything; thanks to life sucking last winter, I gained about 15 lbs. after Halloween, and it's only just started to come off in the past month or two. I'm not sure I'd be able to fit into the costume unless I lost at least a few more pounds!

I've been working some with fiber optics recently and was thinking that they might make for a better version of those gloves than the EL wire. If you do decide you want to break out the costume, I'd be up for making you a new set if you want - just let me know.

That would be awesome! I'd say go ahead and do it; even if I don't do the costume for this PAX, it's too awesome to not wear it again at *some* point in the foreseeable future ;)
