Jesus, I've been a downer lately. I need to stop with that. ;p

On the nice side, I now have my 2009 W2 in my hot little hands. I can has big tax refund plz? ...okay, so all I would do with it is something boring like putting it in savings. But that would feel *really* good right now. <3

Other Good Things of recent:
--Rock Band and awesome cupcakes and [livejournal.com profile] sarapada's birthday
--Saturday vintage theater photoshoot of awesome
--actually winning money at poker for the first time ever. $10 richer, y'all!
--CUTE PUPPIES ;_; (one of our models brought hers to the shoot, d'aawww)
--grabbing a bite at Produce Row with [livejournal.com profile] veiravx on my day off.
--finding recipe on Teh Internets and making yummy Moroccan-type beef stew
--long walk up to Hawthorne with Boy, with stop at pizza joint
--guy at said pizza joint who was TOTALLY a more well-spoken Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds
--getting mac-n-cheese for lunch yesterday
--having lunch with Amy earlier today
--it's already Wednesday and it's almost over!

Ahhh. That's better.

Did you do your own taxes? I am terrified to do them with the house and all.

I did them last year, it was actually not that bad. I did them online and it walked me through a lot of it. Do you already the statement of your interest paid, points, etc. from your mortgage company?

I'm a little worried about this year because of the refinance, but I'll probably ask my dad about it to make sure I don't miss anything really glaring.

My lender sent me something.. I have all the statements from the payments I've made. I don't know what points are.

Points are a percentage (1 point=1%) of the total price of the house you paid up front when you got your mortgage. They're deductable in the year you paid them (you can subtract them from your income before you figure out how much tax you owe). They'll be listed in the closing paperwork for your mortgage, which for some reason is usually printed on 8.5"x14" paper.

Thank you, I'm guessing that's included in that paperwork my lender sent over. He's a god among humans so I'm sure whatever I need is there.

Thanks for the info... first time homebuyer here- living in a state of constant confusion.

I got my W2 today, too! I am also hoping for a big refund, though I'm debating whether it will go to savings or debt repayment.

Aaaaand now I realize what a huge nerd I am for being so excited about this.

Heh, no moreso than I ;) I am positively giddy at the prospect of all the responsible things I could do with my refund!
