Yay Portland Eats!
Nov. 16th, 2009 03:47 pmI've had some damned good meals, these past few days.
Friday night had me at Edgefield for Pete's birthday. Lesson learned: when you get out of the habit of drinking often, 4 beers suddenly becomes a LOT of alcohol. Especially when 2 of them are Terminator Stout and one is the special Chocolate Milk Stout they have on nitro. But anyway, I had their veggie pizza and it was actually pretty good!
Saturday, I met my folks at HUB. I hadn't eaten there before, and of course it was ridiculously busy, but they seemed to like it. My dad had two different beers and seemed to really like them both. And I also dug the Seven Grain Stout, but I stopped at one this time. I ate the other half of my gigantic calzone for lunch today. So yummy!
Yesterday, we did a late-lunch/early-dinner at Bread & Ink! I love that place. I do not love parking near Hawthorne, though. They also came to see the house beforehand. As I expected, Dad thought it was pretty cool, Ma thought it was "too old."
Tonight, Boy and I are heading out to the 'Tron, where Ma and/or our family friend whom they're staying with are going to cook dinner for us. Seriously, you guys. Homemade Chinese food. Noooomnomnom. One day I will learn their ubersecrets.
Things have been going well. It's been good to have the folks in town. :)
