Question for the audience
Nov. 13th, 2009 03:03 pmDoes your internet personality differ from your regular one?
My Answer:
I think the guiding principles of my personality are the same online as offline. I think I come off as a more silly/fun person in my online interactions, and more moody and quiet in person. I'm also more likely to state things directly, and openly express opinions online, although that's becoming less true over time, as I become more expressive in my in-person interactions.
In some ways, I think I act on the internet the way I'd like to be able to act in person. It's easier, because I don't get those twitchy and uncomfortable feelings that I sometimes get with face-to-face communication.

Date: 2009-11-14 06:23 pm (UTC)A quick way to make sure that you are still you when you post online is to have a mirror near by. Catch a quick glance at yourself; if your reflection has a goatee, you have been replaced by your Bizarro-self. Seek help. If your facial hair situation is normal, you should be fine.
