Does your internet personality differ from your regular one?

My Answer:
I think the guiding principles of my personality are the same online as offline. I think I come off as a more silly/fun person in my online interactions, and more moody and quiet in person. I'm also more likely to state things directly, and openly express opinions online, although that's becoming less true over time, as I become more expressive in my in-person interactions.

In some ways, I think I act on the internet the way I'd like to be able to act in person. It's easier, because I don't get those twitchy and uncomfortable feelings that I sometimes get with face-to-face communication.

I dunno. I think that I'm pretty similar in person as my online "personality." If anything, I think I'm a little more subdued with my online stuff than I am in real life. Not sure.

I have no idea. I probably come off like a idiot in my posts because of all my typos, grammatical mistakes, and totally crazy talks. I usually post online when my head can't handle something going on in it, therefor it is usually hysterically written.

I'm more of an asshole on the internet.. and I don't think it's just because I'm "hiding" behind a computer screen and can get away with anything, although the impossibility of physical consequence probably contributes to it.

Also, more articulate. In person I say stupid things and mumble and occasionally stutter, whereas I can revise my writing until I'm satisfied with it, and if I pronounce something badly, no one can tell over the internet.

I am probably more open/forthcoming online than I am in person. I tend to be overly wordy, and people often misinterpret what I'm saying. But I do love to chat.

Humans are complicated, but at the end of the day, it's the same variables that affect us over and over. For some of us, those variables are present in both on-line and real-life situations, but for others, maybe not. Unless you're outright lying, you're still you, just a you that most people aren't used to.

A quick way to make sure that you are still you when you post online is to have a mirror near by. Catch a quick glance at yourself; if your reflection has a goatee, you have been replaced by your Bizarro-self. Seek help. If your facial hair situation is normal, you should be fine.

i'd say, like you, i am sillier and more direct online. i'm a lot more confident. unless you're in my comfort zone "IRL", then about the same. but my comfort zone is kinda small. :/ i'm a shy girl.
