I'm back

It's really nice to be back into doing my own shoots again. :D I'm taking it *super* slow and being very picky about what I do, but if yesterday's shoot was any indication, I think the end result will be better this way. Funny how less work can sometimes equal more satisfaction.

The wardrobe stylist for yesterday had car trouble and got marooned in Salem! She found someone to come up from Corvallis and help her, so that was a relief, but she obviously couldn't make the shoot. But, I wound up shooting with the model anyway, because her outfit was cute enough, if not what I'd envisioned.

I'm glad I did, because she was super-easy to work with, and we got just the kind of outdoor fashion images I wanted for my book. We also did 30 frames or so of beauty shots afterwards, because her skin is *bananas* and I just HAD to, heh. I did almost *no* touch-up on her skin, and she still looks really fresh!

I really like working with that makeup artist, too, she's a super-sweet girl and has a lot of ideas. She also does photography, but she's been swamped with makeup requests, so she's going "off the radar" for doing makeup. But, I'm apparently an exception to that, because she likes working with me. Yay! :D

I have some awesome ideas I want to pursue in the not-too-distant future, but locations are iffy. If anyone knows where I can get access to an attic space, or a hair salon chair/space, I'd be forever grateful.

So, um, that's all for now. I'm back!

Haha, no, but maybe I should have! My skin tends to be pretty good, so I don't usually think of that, I just assume they were born lucky.

Welcome back! :) I was wondering what you charge for a few pictures, probably mostly headshots.. they're not for anything official; I just take really horrible pictures and my mum really wants a picture of me (as does my girlfriend's parents), so..yeah, just thought I'd ask!

Thanks
Catie

Portrait sessions generally start around $200. :) We do have a really quick $100 headshot package, but it doesn't include prints (you just get one final image on disc), and it would really be just a headshot, rather than a cool portrait.
