I sneaked through the pass today and made it to Cali. Lemony-fresh victory is mine. ;)

Being in the car by yourself for 12 hours, however? Not so fun. AND I have to do it again in less than a week. Feh!

Aaaanyhoo, I hope all you Portlanders are staying safe and toasty! Hugs!

I know ALL too well about nasty long car rides all by yourself. ><
I just got back from a road trip that got me from Augusta, GA to Dallas, TX then on to Prescott, AZ. Most of those drives were broken up by a few days, but, wanting to get home to see Shannon, I decided to drive the 16+ hours from Dallas to Augusta in one shot. I had been in the car so long, and had drank/eaten so much caffeine and sugar that my entire body was vibrating. So, yeah... moral of the story? Pain is temporary, chicks dig scars, glory is forever. Or is that something else? Whatever. You know what I'm getting at. :P

I drove across country by myself. Now, I like being alone, but I have trouble staying awake on a long drive. Books on tape/CD/mp3 are your friend. Librivox.org has lots of good books for free. I heartily recommend the Scarlet Pimpernel.

Get a talking book to listen to on the drive. Trust me its great! Try something easy and humorous, I like the Clive Cussler books they don't require alot of thought and they are adventerous.

Merry Christmast!
