--We have a Christmas tree! It hadn't even occurred to me to get one, because I've never had a lot of space for one, and I'm usually not there *on* Christmas to enjoy it, but I came home to find that Erick snagged one and put it up. It's pretty awesome to have a tree, and a live one at that! Fresh pine scent FTW.

--Party at [livejournal.com profile] katlyn's was fun, and I got ridonkulous praise for my dress, considering it wasn't in keeping with the theme. :) It was a kind of overwhelming environment, after running myself ragged for the entire day, so I didn't have the reserves to do both parties, despite reallyreally wanting to. I figured I should at least give [livejournal.com profile] twilite_embrace her birthday props, though. :)

--I think I'm fairly burned out on big parties in general, but that's no one's fault. I think I'm just weary of making polite chitchat with strangers whom I'll likely never spend any significant amount of time with, when there are specific people at the same gathering, whom I *know* I want to be spending that time with. I love smaller groups so much more than huge ones... just me being finicky, I guess. :)

--Saturday was pretty exhausting; I spent most of the day at the wushu school practicing, helping with setup, doing the actual performance, cleaning up afterwards, and eating potluck foodstuffs afterwards. I love when Chinese people do potluck... seriously, mapo tofu and roast duck? OM NOM NOM.

--The actual performance was fine. There were a couple of minor slip-ups, but nothing quite as memorable as a small child somehow escaping his mother's clutches, and running out into the middle of the floor while my teammate was doing his kwandao form! Yes, that is a thick staff with a giant effin' blade on the end. Nothing bad happened, but it was pretty terrifying for a minute there.

--Sunday was probably one of the most successful beauty shoots we've had to date. The MUA did an amazing job, and a model brought some of her own ideas, too. Hotness. <3

--We met with a guy from Craigslist last night who's pretty amazing with building design. We're not looking to put much money into anything, so we were just tossing ideas around and talking about how to get reclaimed and alternative materials. He seems very willing to teach us how to do the work ourselves, too, so that's pretty exciting. :)

--Tik Tok makes a pretty decent BLT. That was some seriously enjoyable pepper bacon.

--We're pathetically low on food in the house. Boo-urns.
