Back in the saddle
Dec. 1st, 2008 12:27 pmThings are coming to mind in bits and snatches, which means it's time for list-y format.
--Eugene was relaxed-and-groovy; spent most of it with the Boy's family, enjoying tasty foodage and playing games. I'm now fairly decent at pinochle, which I'd never played before, and I think I probably gained 5 lbs. from all the sitting around and eating, but eh, it'll come off. ;p By Saturday morning, I found that I really, *REALLY* didn't want to eat anymore. Ever. XD
--After having tried it for myself, WiiFit is officially rad, and I *definitely* want one. It basically said that my center of balance is completely wack, but I can't say I'm shocked by that, after having blown out my right ankle twice before, and still dealing with a left foot sprain that comes and goes with its nagging.
--After all the starchy-and-meaty goodness of Thanksgiving, my appreciation for vegetables is back with a fiery vengeance. We paused for munchies during our half-day shoot yesterday, and when talking about what we wanted, the first thing my brain yelled was, "VEGGIES AND HUMMUS!"
--I cannot freaking decide what my plan is for Christmas. Sure, I know the major details--i.e. go to parents' house, spend Christmas at Grandpa's house--but I still need to figure out when, and for how long. It can be tough to plan things such that you can enjoy a nice block of time with the family, while still avoiding the whole, "I'm kicking around my parents' house, and Dad's at work and I have nothing to do," phenomenon. ;)
--We had two paid shoots over the weekend, and they were fun, even if the models were complete n00bs. See, a pro model can hear about the concept, and pose appropriately for the vision with little-to-no direction, and might even throw in her/his own ideas. With a novice, you often find yourself trying to give them specific poses, i.e. "put this leg here, put your right arm up here, chin down, relax the hands," etc., etc. The latter situation can be a real pain, especially since I'm not into posing people for photos. Shots that are spontaneous, or poses that come from the individual's own mind, are the ones I find the most compelling.
And, geh, no time to blab. Must hit the gym! I've missed it!
